Are you an Early Career Researcher (ECR) looking for a new challenge?
The Housing Studies Association (HSA) is looking for two enthusiastic ECRs to join our team as Communications Assistants as part of our Early Career Researcher offer.
These positions are for 1 year and as a Communications Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day activities of the HSA. Your responsibilities will include posting content on our social media platforms and website, assisting in the development of communications strategies, supporting our events, providing support to our members, and assisting with general administrative tasks. You will work closely with the Communications and Membership Officers.
We are looking for individuals who are motivated, passionate about housing studies, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work in a fast-paced environment. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a reasonable understanding of social media platforms.
This role would be a professional development opportunity with the successful candidate(s) developing skills around:
- Using social media and email to maintain and build professional networks
- The use of communications as a part of academic practice
- Providing communications support for a membership organisation
- Creating communication strategies which support links between academia and practice
These posts are voluntary and we would anticipate that the commitment to these roles
would be a maximum of 1-2hrs per week, but there will be periods where this may
increase (such as in the lead up to, and during, the Annual Conference).
To be eligible for these roles you must be a member of the HSA. For more information about membership click here.
So, if you're an ECR looking to develop your skills and make a positive impact in the housing community, we want to hear from you!
To apply, please send your CV and a cover letter explaining why you would be a good fit for the role to Jenny Hoolachan (Communications Officer) [email protected] by 8th September 2023
