Call for Associate Editors (with responsibilities for Book Reviews; Social Media; and Provocations) for Housing & Society
About the call
We are looking for three new associate editors to join the editorial team at Housing & Society. The three associates will have responsibility for specific aspects of the journal life, including Book Reviews; Social Media; and Provocations (a new section in the journal).
The roles would suit academics at an early stage of their housing research career, including PhD students.
The Associate Editors will report directly to the Editors-in-Chief at quarterly meetings.
About the journal
Housing and Society is the journal of the Housing Education and Research Association (HERA). The journal supports the mission of HERA by providing for the dissemination of research and other scholarly work. Submissions from a broad range of perspectives are encouraged. Topics in housing include: policy, design, social aspects, gerontology, behavioral aspects, energy/environment, equipment, interiors, economics, theory/model development, education, and program development or evaluation.
Benefits
Joining the editorial team at Housing & Society is a rewarding, creative, and fulfilling experience where you get insight into contemporary research within the field. It will build your own networks and promote the research that you are passionate about. It is also a wonderful opportunity for those looking to gain further experience in academic publishing.
These are some of the further benefits of working with Housing and Society:
- You will be part of a successful journal that has a clear purpose, with a strong and growing community around it.
- You will have a well-respected title to add to your CV!
- Your name will be published with the editorial team on the Housing & Society website and in each printed issue.
- Free online access to all articles and issues published in the Journal, including the full archive.
- Support from the Editors-in-Chief for your own publications and academic experiences.
Interested in applying? Please send a copy of your CV and short cover letter (no more than one side) to both editors ([email protected] and [email protected]) by 1st October 2023.
You will bring your own skills, attributes and ideas, but here’s a hint for what we’re looking for: enthusiasm for housing research; a desire to learn more about the cutting edge of housing scholarship; ability to work as part of a team and cheerfully meeting deadlines.
We are keen to appoint at least one Associate Editor currently working in North America
