HSA Conference 2025 - extended submission deadline
We are delighted to announce that the deadline for submitting papers to the Housing Studies Association Annual Conference 2025 has been extended to the 20th December 2024. This extension provides you with a bit more time to submit your abstract.
About the conference
Join us for an engaging and insightful conference themed "Households, Housing Research, Policy and Practice." Our conference provides an opportunity to engage with the forefront of housing-related research and practice developments, bringing together a diverse community to explore and discuss the most pressing topics in housing today.
In-person element: 14th–16th April 2025 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sheffield, UK
Online element: Throughout the conference period with dedicated sessions between 28th–30th April 2025
We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Whether you are based in the UK or internationally, within or outside academia, from any disciplinary background, and at any stage of your career, your contribution is highly valued.
Conference themes and topics
While our theme is deliberately broad to encourage diverse perspectives, we welcome papers on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
The household as a unit of analysis – questions about data linkage and big data
Approaches to conceptualising the meaning of 'home' and household
The relationship between housing, neighborhoods, and physical and psychological health
Housing finance and economics
Intersectional inequalities in access to safe and secure housing
Homelessness, housing precarity, housing and welfare policy
And many other topics related to housing research, education, and practice
We especially encourage jointly-authored papers that establish a dialogue between practice and academia.
