Upgrade to Associate Fellow or Fellow Membership
The Housing Studies Association (HSA) invites members to elevate their professional recognition by upgrading to the prestigious Associate Fellow or Fellow membership grades. These categories highlight and celebrate significant achievements in housing-related research, practice and policy.
Eligibility Criteria for Associate Fellow Membership
- Must be a Full member of the HSA for at least two years
- Demonstrated contribution to the field of housing studies through research, practice, and/or teaching.
- Active involvement in the HSA community, such as attendance at conferences, workshops, networks, etc.
Eligibility Criteria for Fellow Membership
- Must be a Full member of the HSA for at least five years
- Significant contribution to the field of housing studies through research, practice and/or teaching. Evidenced by publications, leadership roles, impactful projects, innovations, innovations in teaching and education, and/or knowledge exchange and impact.
- Sustained and active involvement in the HSA community, which may include, but is not limited to: holding a leadership position, organising events or networks, chairing workshop sessions, maintaining a consistent record of presenting at HSA conferences, and/or regularly attending HSA events. This list is not exhaustive, and applicants are not required to have undertaken all of the above to demonstrate active involvement.
How to Apply
To upgrade your membership to Associate Fellow or Fellow, complete the application form and send it to our Membership Officer at [email protected]. Once your application is reviewed and approved, your new membership grade will be applied.

Lifetime Members can apply for Associate Fellow or Fellow grades without paying the annual fee associated with these upgrades. Since Lifetime Membership is secured through a one-time payment, no additional costs are required to enjoy the benefits of these higher member grades.
