The Early Career Researcher Network (ECRN) is a dedicated Housing Studies Association (HSA) member network that aims to bring together and support all early career members with various interdisciplinary backgrounds and experiences in housing studies across all professional sectors/industries.
Early Career Researchers (ECRs) have continually enriched the Housing Studies Association by bringing in fresh perspectives and deepening the depth and breadth of impact research within housing studies.
This network is run by ECRs for ECRs and aims to celebrate ECRs contributions to the field, foster a sense of community, and further support the career and professional development in an inclusive and informal environment.
We define ECRs as those equivalent to 10 years of housing studies research experience in academia, third sector, statutory organisations, research institutes, independent researchers and beyond! A warm welcome to any HSA members who fall under this category.
The ECRN will provide:
- 3-4 dedicated events a year focused on professional development and networking.
- A platform to develop and maintain social and collaborative relationships with other ECRs, which includes a ‘buddy scheme’ and peer-to-peer support.
- Additional Member benefits of HSA including the co-development of a directory of online resources covering research and impact skills.
Network co-ordination
The ECR network is co-chaired by:
- Nia Rees
- Sadhana Jagannath
