Rachel Creaney completed a PhD in Geography and Sustainable Development at the University of St Andrews and James Hutton Institute in 2021. Her PhD looked at ‘health smart homes’ by exploring the experiences of older people living with technology enabled care at home in rural Scotland. Currently, Rachel works as a Social Researcher at the James Hutton Institute on a range of European and Scottish Government funded projects, including a focus on digital and rural housing and rural businesses.
Rachel has a background in Anthropology and Sustainable Rural Development. She was the HSA Communications Assistant from April 2019 to April 2021 and is now a Housing Studies Association board member.
