York Law School (YLS) wishes to recruit a Research Associate with both quantitative and qualitative skills and research experience to work as part of a cross-institutional team on a new research project entitled Understanding criminal landlordism in the private rented sector and co-producing solutions. The post is fixed term for 23 months starting in October 2023. The postholder will work closely with Professor Caroline Hunter (Co-I) and Dr Julie Rugg (PI, Centre for Housing Policy) on the housing justice stream of work, examining how local authorities decide to take legal action under their housing powers against criminal landlords and how decisions are made by magistrates and the First Tier Property Tribunal in those cases.
