You may be aware that as a registered Learned Society and member of the Academy of Social Sciences (AcSS), the HSA is able to nominate prospective new Fellows to the AcSS. Appointment as an AcSS Fellow is a mark of an individual’s distinguished contribution to the social sciences. The AcSS advise that:
“The paramount requirement for successful nomination is evidence of eminence and impact of the nominee’s contribution to social science. This contribution can be in any area, discipline or inter-disciplinary social science and can include research, teaching, professional practice, consultancy and the promotion and dissemination of social science knowledge.” (emphasis added) For more information see: https://www.acss.org.uk/membership/making-nomination-fellow/
We have successfully nominated a number of HSA members in the past (see here for details) and would like to continue to ensure that those working in housing studies are well represented as AcSS fellows.
The Autumn 2018 nomination round is now approaching and we would like to take this opportunity to invite members to propose possible nominees. Self-nomination is not possible. If you would like to propose an individual for nomination by HSA please email Beth Watts, HSA Chair (firstname.lastname@example.org) contact details for the proposed nominee and an overview of their contribution to social science that you feel makes them a suitable candidate by Friday 28th September 2018.
Proposed nominees will be considered by the HSA committee and pursued in communication with the proposer/nominee. If you have any questions, please be in touch.
