Fixed-term for 2 years, full-time, Research Associate posts with the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield.
Salary: £30,688 to £38,833 per annum
Closing Date: 4th July 2018
Are you passionate about investigating and analysing the key challenges for housing in the UK?
We are seeking two excellent researchers to join our world-leading group of housing studies researchers – and make a major contribution to the development and delivery of the ESRC-funded Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE).
You will be required to carry out independent housing research and support high quality cross-disciplinary evidence reviews and projects based on secondary data. You will work independently and collaboratively as part of a large team, operating across the UK, and supporting a variety of projects (these might be evidence reviews or more reflective projects involving secondary data). Strong quantitative analysis skills would be a particularly valuable attribute in at least one of these posts.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a discipline within the social sciences (ideally housing studies, planning, urban studies, social policy/public policy). Relevant research experience and experience of working with secondary data/data analysis and official statistics is essential. Evidence of delivering high quality research outputs for both academic and non-academic audiences is also fundamental.
The Department of Urban Studies and Planning (USP) is a world-leading centre for research and education in planning and a range of urban-focused disciplines. Working here, you would be part of one of the largest and most thriving urban studies and planning schools, not only in the UK but globally, recognised in the Research Excellence Framework in 2014 as the top planning school in the country.
