Early Career Researchers in Housing: funding and application writing workshop

Early Career Researchers in Housing: funding and application writing workshop

Location: Centre for Housing Policy, University of York, York

Date: Wednesday 6th April 2016

Time: 10:00-12:00

The HSA would like to invite all Early Career Researchers to a workshop on funding and research application writing. The aim of the workshop is to provide information about the types of funding available, the types of application funders have found successful and to undertake a practical application writing and reviewing exercise.

The workshop is free to attend, is immediately before the annual conference and is open to anyone who self-defines as an Early Career Researcher (including postgraduate students) and is interested in housing.

  • What funding is available
  • What funders are looking for in ECR applications
  • Practical exercise reviewing previous applications

The HSA recognises that there are particular challenges for ECRs in identifying, preparing and submitting research bids. This workshop is an exciting opportunity for ECRs to work through some of these challenges and hear from senior academic and research funding bodies how some of the common pitfalls can be avoided and the quality of applications improved.

Please indicate your attendance by emailing Joe Crawford (jc292@st-andrews.ac.uk) and Richard Dunning (r.j.dunning@sheffield.ac.uk) before Wednesday 17th February 2016.
