This event is part of a global series that explores housing in the broader context of related built environment and social issues.

The conference concerns itself with housing and its relation to large-scale planning, urban design and community participation in urban regeneration.

It is hosted by the University of Derby and Derby City Council.

Other people engaged in the series include: La Universidad de Sevilla, Swinburne University, Australia; The University of Cyprus, UCL Press, Libri Publishing. It is coordinated by the UK non-profit research organisation AMPS as part of its engagement with the UN Habitat University Initiative.
